Having overcome poverty, homelessness, a serious criminal past, as well as addiction to drugs and alcohol, Terry has been to the bottom of life and climbed up to create a better life for himself and his family. His vision is to help students grow stronger, learn to manage their safety and help them build a better life for themselves. Terry has a unique ability to teach people to bridge the gaps between fighting, violence, and training. Because of his past, he is able to communicate the reality of violence and offer solutions that are useful and applicable to the real situations of students.

An instructor with Violence Dynamics, Terry leads seminars on violence and martial arts across the country. Terry is the Director of the Kapatiran Suntukan Martial Arts organization. He is also a founding member of Conflict Research Group Int’l. He regularly writes for Conflict Manager magazine and is active on a variety of platforms related to self-defense, martial arts, and violence.

In addition, Terry is also a founder of Masters of Mayhem along with Clint Overland and Edwin Voskamp. In addition to having trained in SouthEast Asian martial arts for over 20 years, Terry has a broad background in violence. He has been a bouncer, bodyguard, enforcer and gang member. He has trained in boxing, wrestling, Kali, Eskrima, Silat, and various weapons styles. Terry has also worked in the knife industry for many years. He has and continues to give much insight into all aspects of knives, from their history to their design and use for an array of purposes. Over the years, he has worked with Marc MacYoung, Rory Miller, Randy King, Tammy Yard MacCracken, Kasey Keckeisen, Ed Calderon, Bobbe Edmonds, Jay Castensen and many others.
